Simon Pattison

Symptoms: IBS, bloating

Food Reactions: dairy, gluten

“So happy to have had the test and have a clearer understanding as to why I felt so poorly for so long”

47-year-old university lecturer Simon Pattison had been suffering with issues related to IBS for 10 years which related to a former hiatus hernia diagnosis.

Simon explained how these symptoms affected him over the years, “I was often in pain or severe discomfort throughout the day which would affect my job.”

After Simon’s was recommended YorkTest to try and get to the root cause of his symptoms, he decided to give it a go. “I was due to have surgery and I wanted a more clear understanding of my gut health prior to the surgery.”

After taking a Premium Food Intolerance Test, Simon found he had IgG reactivity to a number of different foods including dairy and gluten.

After eliminating his trigger ingredients, Simon saw visible improvements within a couple of weeks.  “I felt better. I’m not in pain every day! That’s a win-win as far as I’m concerned.”

Talking about his experience with trying to eliminate multiple foods from his diet, Simon said: “Easy. If you have been in as much pain for as long as I have, giving up a certain food type is easy, especially if it’s ‘poisoning’ you.”

YorkTest analyses your IgG reactions to 200 food and drinks – from common ingredients like Cow’s MilkGluten and Egg, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process, which involves sending a finger-prick blood sample to the company’s laboratories revealed Simon’s intolerances. Following on from the test, the YorkTest Customer Care Team are on hand to answer any queries and offer follow-up advice along with our expert nutritional therapists.

When asked how he found his experience with our customer service, Simon said: “Amazing. It’s rare to have this level of care and customer service.”

On his overall experience with YorkTest Simon remarked, “Put simply, I’m just so happy to have had the test and have a clearer understanding as to why I felt so poorly for so long. I have subsequently recommended the test to friends and family as I’m so impressed with the test and more importantly the level of service. Very happy.”
