“I feel excellent and healthy.”
40-year-old Anju Palakkot, a Learning Consultant, had been struggling with a painful and disruptive health issue for years: recurring mouth ulcers. For more than four years, Anju regularly suffered from severe outbreaks, sometimes experiencing 10–20 mouth ulcers at a time. The ulcers were so painful that there were moments when she couldn’t even speak, and they would often bleed.
The condition had a significant impact on her day-to-day life. Eating became extremely difficult, and as a result Anju developed severe iron and vitamin deficiencies. Her work also suffered. As her role involves a lot of communication, there were times when she had to take time off work because speaking was simply too painful.
At home, the impact was just as challenging. As a parent of two young children, Anju found it difficult to manage family life while dealing with constant discomfort.
For years, she searched for answers. She tried multiple medications for mouth ulcers and sought advice from her GP, but doctors were unable to identify the cause. At one point, the symptoms became so worrying that Anju feared she might be dealing with a serious underlying illness. Blood tests, however, revealed nothing conclusive.
Anju first heard about YorkTest through a friend and had taken a test previously. In February 2024, she decided to take another test, this time alongside her daughter, hoping to finally uncover the root of the issue.
The results revealed food intolerances to yeast, milk, and several other foods, with yeast being the primary trigger. Once she removed these ingredients from her diet, the results were remarkable.
Within one to two weeks, the mouth ulcers that had plagued her for years completely disappeared. The improvement was immediate and dramatic. For the first time in years, Anju could eat comfortably and speak without pain.
The change transformed her daily life. She no longer needed to call in sick to work and was able to spend more quality time with her children. Her overall wellbeing improved significantly, and she was finally able to focus on rebuilding her health. Having previously been underweight due to the difficulty of eating, she now maintains a healthier lifestyle and even goes to the gym to support her wellbeing.
Anju found the elimination process challenging at first, particularly when it came to replacing certain foods like bread. However, she was determined to improve her health and committed fully to the changes. She continues to follow her diet plan today.
If she accidentally consumes her trigger foods, the reaction is immediate: mouth ulcers return the next day, confirming the connection between her symptoms and the foods identified in the test.
Looking back, Anju says the YorkTest experience has massively improved her overall wellbeing and given her the clarity she had been searching for for years.
Today, she describes herself simply as “excellent – healthy.”
