Symptoms: stomach cramps, vomiting, nausea
Food Reactions: cow's milk, greens

“I know what has been causing my illness and the YorkTest result allows me to manage my food so I am not in pain or ill”

9 year old James had been suffering with nausea, stomach aches and vomiting for two months. James’s symptoms made it difficult for him to play with friends and had to take time off school, leaving him unable to enjoy a carefree childhood. His symptoms also affected his day-to-day life, leaving James upset when vomiting and unable to play football with his friends.

After his parents tried to help James by keeping a food diary, calling 111 and seeing GPs, James’s parents came across YorkTest at the recommendation of another parent from James’s school. After taking a Junior Food Intolerance Test with YorkTest, James discovered that his body was producing IgG antibodies when encountering cow’s milk and green vegetables. The intolerance to cow’s milk caught James’s parents by surprise as did his intolerance to certain vegetables.

When asked how James felt after removing his trigger foods, his parents said: “It’s given us direction and answers and information to take to the doctor.”

The Junior Food Intolerance Test analyses your child’s IgG reactions to 100 food and drinks – from common ingredients like cow’s milk, wheat and egg white, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process, which involves sending a finger-prick blood sample to the company’s laboratories revealed the foods that James was reacting to, in an easy-to-read traffic light-style format, indicating which foods were highly reactive and which ones were only slightly reactive.

When asked how they found the elimination process, James’s parents commented: Still in the process of finding alternatives and researching what has cow’s milk in it. Hoping to see an improvement in the next few weeks”. His family also found the customer care team were “very helpful, especially Jess who was friendly and understood the situation”.

When James and his family were asked how they would summarise their experience with YorkTest, James concluded with: “I know what has been causing my illness and the YorkTest result allows me to manage my food so I am not in pain or ill.”
