Alexandra Loizou

Symptoms: skin flare ups, fatigue, bloating, constipation, abdominal cramps

Food Reactions: cow's milk, spirulina, sesame seed, egg yolk

“Managing my food intolerances has improved my energy, well-being and allowed me to enjoy activities I couldn’t before”

33-year-old Alexandra Loizou, was dealing with skin issues, fatigue, and a range of gastrointestinal issues including constipation, bloating and abdominal cramps for a number of years.

When asked about how these symptoms affected her life, Alexandra said: “I experienced disruptions in daily activities, work, sleep and my overall well-being.”

Alexandra added, “I found it challenging to engage in activities and hobbies that I used to enjoy. Simple tasks like going out with friends or participating in physical activities became more difficult due to discomfort and fatigue. The skin problems also affected my confidence and willingness to socialise.”

Alexandra heard about YorkTest from an influencer on Instagram who she follows and decided to give food intolerance testing a try. “After doing some research, I found that YorkTest was recommended for identifying food intolerances. It seemed like a practical step to figure out if certain foods were contributing to my issues.”

After taking the Premium Food Intolerance Test, Alexandra’s results indicated that her body was reacting to cow’s milk, spirulina, sesame seed and egg yolk.

We asked Alexandra how she felt after removing these trigger foods. “I noticed a significant improvement in how I felt. All my symptoms started to lessen and overall, I felt more energetic and comfortable.”

“Since making these changes, I’ve experience a boost in energy and wellbeing. This positive shift has allowed me to engage in new activities, such as running and becoming more active.”

Our test analyses your IgG reactions to 200 food and drinks – from common ingredients like gluten and cow’s milk, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process involves sending a finger-prick blood sample back to YorkTest, Alexandra then received her results within 7-days through the Wellness Hub, in an easy-to-read traffic light-based format.

Eliminating the trigger foods and sticking to her diet plan has helped clear Alexandra’s symptoms and also notice a change in weight, “It took about 2 weeks after removing the foods identified as intolerances for me to notice a significant improvement in my symptoms and overall health. I did notice some changes in my weight throughout the process. It wasn’t a primary goal, but the combination of feeling better and engaging in more physical activities naturally contributed to some positive changes in my weight.”

When asked about her customer service experience, Alexandra commented: “The customer care team were supportive and responsive, addressing any concerns or questions I had throughout the process.”

Similarly, Alexandra found her experience with the nutritional expert to be a positive one, “The nutritional consultation was incredibly helpful.”

When asked how life had changed since taking the test and how she would summarise her experience, Alexandra concluded: “Taking the test has brought a positive shift in my life. Managing my food intolerances has improved my energy, wellbeing and allowed me to enjoy activities I couldn’t before. I feel more energetic, healthier, and happier since addressing my food intolerances with YorkTest.”
