Age: 49
Symptoms: chronic pain, tiredness, weight gain
Food Reactions: eggs, yeast, gluten, dairy and pepper

“Relieved, hopeful and very grateful to YorkTest for making these tests available to the public”

49-year-old financial services executive, Elsa Madrolle, was dealing with a range of unpleasant symptoms. Elsa had a range of inflammatory symptoms that seemed to flare up with food or certain types of alcohol.

When asked about how these symptoms affected her life, Elsa said: “My symptoms have been debilitating. I retreated socially, struggled with weight gain, insomnia and chronic pain.”

Elsa added “My back pain was so bad that I couldn’t really walk for much longer than 15-20 minutes. I could no longer stand on the tube. And most exercise was out of the question.”

Elsa had previously tried YorkTest 15 years ago and after she saw an ad on the internet recently, she decided to try another food intolerance test in a bid to find out the root cause of her symptoms.

After taking the Premium Food Intolerance Test, Elsa’s results indicated that her body was reacting to eggs, yeast, gluten, dairy and pepper.

We asked Elsa how she felt after removing these trigger foods. “My skin cleared up, energy levels back up, and my low grade depression and anxiety have lifted, almost immediately”

“I am only a few days in but I am more determined than ever to respect my body and what it needs. I feel like I finally have the answers to some life-long questions and a path forward. I hope to be able to help other people understand that they are in control of their bodies.”

Our test analyses your IgG reactions to 200 food and drinks – from common ingredients like gluten and cow’s milk, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process involves sending a finger-prick blood sample back to YorkTest, Elsa then received her results within 7-days through the Wellness Hub, in an easy-to-read traffic light-based format.

Eliminating the trigger foods and sticking to her diet plan has helped clear Elsa’s symptoms. When asked about her nutritional consultation, Elsa commented: “It is scheduled for next week but I am sure it will be very helpful.” Similarly, Elsa also found the customer service team “Extremely kind and helpful. A real pleasure to deal with, thank you. Jess made sure to call me back after leaving a voicemail and email when I wasn’t available, and she was kind and compassionate during our call and very efficient afterwards.”

When asked how life had changed since taking the test and how she would summarise her experience, Elsa concluded: “Relieved, hopeful and very grateful to YorkTest for making these tests available to the public.”
