Symptoms: IBS, Stomach aches, Bloating, Gas, Nausea
Food Reactions: yeast, milk, eggs, vanilla, white wine, red wine

“This test has completely changed my life – I only wish I’d taken it years earlier”

58-year-old Dorothy had been suffering with constant stomach ache, nausea, severe bloating, gas, and diarrhea and needing frequent toilet breaks. She had struggled with digestive issues on and off for the past 8 years. After going to her GP, Dorothy was told she was most likely gluten intolerant from the symptoms she had described.

Dorothy explained how these symptoms had affected her over the years, “I was very reluctant to eat out in case my stomach started playing up or to travel long distances without access to a toilet.”

“I was having constant stomach ache, always looking for a toilet as I had to dash really quickly. I had to be careful what I ate and experienced anxiousness trying to eat out.”

Dorothy came across YorkTest, after her own son had one of our food intolerance tests. She was very impressed with the results from her son’s test and decided to try it as well.

After taking a Premium Food Intolerance Test, Dorothy found she had IgG reactivity to a number of different foods including milk, yeast, eggs, vanilla, white wine and heavy red wine. Commenting on her results, Dorothy said “I was surprised by some but not others as I’d already removed eggs and white wine from my diet and the yeast intolerance explains the confusion with gluten intolerance.”

After eliminating her trigger ingredients, Dorothy saw visible improvements within the first week.  “It might sound like a cliché but it has totally changed my life. I haven’t had stomach aches and for the last two weeks, I am only going to the loo once a day and I feel so much better. I have stopped taking magnesium tablets as I can now eat wheat and reduce other meds. I don’t worry about having to find a loo everywhere I go and my weight is staying consistent. ”

Talking about her experience with trying to eliminate multiple foods from her diet, Dorothy said “Very tricky getting my head around it all – yeast is an extremely difficult one to tackle. I swapped my milk with soya which actually tastes better and I have Alpro yoghurts not containing milk. I also use olive spread which is actually lower in saturated fat.”

YorkTest analyses your IgG reactions to 200 food and drinks – from common ingredients like Cow’s MilkGluten and Egg, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process, which involves sending a finger-prick blood sample to the company’s laboratories revealed Dorothy’s intolerances. Following on from the test, the YorkTest Customer Care Team are on hand to answer any queries and offer follow-up advice.

When asked to sum up her whole experience with YorkTest, Dorothy added: “This test has completely changed my life – I only wish I’d taken it years earlier. I feel like my body has had a complete reset. “
