Symptoms: stomach aches, migraines
Food Reactions: yeast, egg white and yolk, cow's milk

“My life has changed and I am able to play golf more regularly”

77-year-old retired railway development engineer, Alan Colyer, was dealing with a range of unpleasant symptoms. Alan had suffered with various stomach pains and constant migraines off and on for 12 years.

When asked about how these symptoms affected his life, Alan said: “I had problems with toilet issues throughout the day.” The symptoms also affected Alan’s passion for golf in instances where there wasn’t any immediate access to toilets. “I ensured that I planned my day when going out either for meals or walks.”

Alan went to his GP for regular tests and also attended Queens Hospital in London, taking different pills over the years and having no effect. Then Alan heard about YorkTest through a friend who experienced relief from migraines after a change in his diet.

That’s when he ordered the Premium Food Intolerance Test, with his results indicating that his body was reacting to yeast, egg white and yolk as well as cow’s milk. Alan was very surprised as they were all in his daily diet.

We asked Alan how he felt after removing these trigger foods, he said he felt “very much better, it relieved the stomach pains and had some reduction of migraines.” Alan saw an improvement in his symptoms including weight loss after removing his food intolerance within a month.

Our test analyses your IgG reactions to 200 food and drinks – from common ingredients like gluten and cow’s milk, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process involves sending a finger-prick blood sample back to YorkTest, Alan then received his results within 7-days through the Wellness Hub, in an easy-to-read traffic light-based format.

Eliminating the trigger foods and sticking to his diet plan has helped clear Alan’s symptoms and helped him be more active. When asked about his nutritional consultation, Alan found it helpful, and had just agreed to follow his prescribed diet.

When asked how life had changed since taking the test and how he would summarise his experience,  Alan concluded: “It’s been much easier to manage my daily life. My life has changed and I am able to play golf more regularly.”
