Dr Naomi Newman-Beinart (PhD)
YorkTest Nutritional Ambassador
Dr Naomi Newman-Beinart is a Nutritionist and Chartered Psychologist with a research-led background in health science and wellbeing. She specialises in the relationship between nutrition, psychological health, and long-term behaviour change, helping individuals make informed, confident decisions about their health using clear, evidence-based information.
With extensive experience as a Scientist and Researcher, Dr Naomi’s work focuses on how nutrition, lifestyle, and psychology interact to shape wellbeing. Her expertise supports YorkTest’s educational content, public health messaging, and evidence-led approach to nutrition and gut health.
As YorkTest’s Nutritional Ambassador, Dr Naomi provides expert insight across nutrition, mental wellbeing, and behaviour change – helping translate complex science into practical, accessible guidance that supports long-term health.
Jan Clementson
Consultant Head of Nutritional Science
Jan Clementson is YorkTest’s Consultant Head of Nutritional Science, bringing expert oversight across nutrition, gut health, and wellbeing. Working closely with Dr Naomi Newman-Beinart, Jan supports YorkTest’s scientific integrity by contributing expert insight to educational content, clinical interpretation, and PR commentary.
Jan plays a key role in ensuring YorkTest’s nutritional guidance remains evidence-based, balanced, and aligned with best practice – supporting customers, clinicians, and the wider health conversation with credible, scientifically sound expertise.
Laboratory & Diagnostic Expertise
Dr Gill Hart BSc (Hons), PhD, Cert Mgmt (Open), FIBMS
Pioneer of Food Intolerance Testing, in collaboration with the University of York
Dr Gill Hart is an expert Biochemist with over 30 years’ experience in the development and validation of hospital-standard diagnostic tests and testing services.
After completing her PhD in hormone assay and pituitary function in 1987, Gill began her career as a Senior Biochemist at Hammersmith Hospital in London. She later worked across multiple R&D organisations, leading the development and validation of innovative diagnostic tests for both hospital and consumer health settings.
Dr Gill, who joined YorkTest in 2005 and retired in July 2025, was instrumental in building the company into the UK market leader in food intolerance, food allergy, and health testing. Her scientific and regulatory expertise shaped every YorkTest service, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance at every stage, ensuring YorkTest’s legacy of a scientifically based support for consumers looking to optimise their health, nutrition and wellbeing.
Rob Wilson BSc (Hons), HCPC, MIBMS, MBSH
Rob Wilson is an HCPC-registered Advanced Specialist Biomedical Scientist with over 25 years’ experience across blood sciences, GMP environments, and highly regulated diagnostic settings.
His expertise spans GMP, GLP, quality assurance, blood testing, manufacturing, and cellular and molecular therapies. Rob holds multiple professional certifications, including Institute of Leadership and Management qualifications, IRCA Lead Auditor status, and Lean Cell Practitioner training.
Rob has extensive experience working to stringent regulatory standards, including MHRA, JACIE, HTA, BSQR, TQSR, ISO 15189, and ISO 13485. His role supports YorkTest’s laboratory governance, audit readiness, and commitment to delivering safe, high-quality diagnostic services.
Angie Swift BSc (Hons), HCPC, MIBMS
Angie Swift is an HCPC-registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist with over 16 years of laboratory experience, including 12 years as a qualified BMS.
She holds an IBMS Specialist Diploma in Biochemistry and is a multidisciplinary scientist with experience across Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation, and Blood Transfusion. Angie has worked extensively within the NHS, analysing potentially infectious samples using both manual and automated laboratory techniques.
Angie is highly experienced in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures all laboratory practices comply with ISO 15189, ISO 13485, and UKAS standards. She also brings strong expertise in Clinical Governance, COSHH, audit processes, and laboratory health and safety.
