52-year-old Sales Manager John Mudge was diagnosed with silent reflux and was experiencing feelings of nausea after eating, which was having a big impact on his life. He had actually been suffering from silent reflux for around 12 months and was experiencing the associated feelings of nausea for ‘countless years.’ 

John found himself reluctant to eat out, preferring to snack instead. The thought of eating out was so troublesome that he found himself feeling sick at the mere thought of it. He took matters into his own hands to take back control, consulting a doctor who diagnosed him with silent reflux. However, the doctor didn’t really offer much else, except for the usual advice and medication. John tried monitoring his diet to identify any reactions to specific foods. Within a week of removing his trigger foods, John was feeling much healthier and better. He found that the nausea had gone, the silent reflux had eased, and his stomach felt better. He said it was hard to describe, but he felt that the constant dull stomach ache had gone. On top of all of this, he had lost 8lbs and felt better for it. 

He found eliminating problem foods from his diet tricky to begin with, but with persistence and help from our excellent team, checking food ingredients is now second nature to him.  Even when he felt like he was experiencing side effects again, he consulted with our team, who instructed him that the fruit he was eating actually contained yeast: one of his intolerances. 

John also found that if he eats any of his trigger foods, his unpleasant symptoms start to come back again. John is now mainly following his proposed diet plan, except for the occasional treat at weekends.
