Susan Moffat

Symptoms: IBS, fatigue

Food Reactions: yeast, cow's milk, flaxseed, carrot, beef, egg white

“I feel relieved to know about my food allergies and sensitivities”

50-year-old homemaker, Susan, had been suffering with IBS flare-ups for one year leading to bloating, fatigue and troublesome bowel movements. Susan’s symptoms, also compounded by a diagnosis of Bronchiectasis, impacted her life considerably leading to sleep disturbances and distress.

She explained how these symptoms had affected her during this time, “I felt in pain and bloated most of the time, which makes it difficult to relax and enjoy life. I was no longer able to enjoy food or my craft due to fatigue.”

Susan learned about YorkTest from a book by Patrick Holford. “I was suspicious that I had a food intolerance but couldn’t determine it myself.”

After taking a Premium Food Sensitivity Test, Susan found she had high IgG reactivity to yeast, cow’s milk, flaxseed, carrot, beef and egg white. After eliminating her trigger ingredients, her digestive issues began to take a turn for the better. “The pain and bloating disappeared unless I am stressed. My bowel movement have become less troublesome. Even when I am stressed, as long as I am following the diet, the IBS symptoms are not as bad as before. I am crafting again and I can eat food with confidence knowing that it won’t trigger my IBS.”

Talking about her experience with trying to eliminate multiple foods from her diet, Susan said, “It was difficult for some foods such as eggs and yeast. Other foods like flaxseed were easier to swap.”

YorkTest analyses your IgG reactions to 200 food and drinks – from common ingredients like cow’s milk, gluten and egg, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process, which involves sending a finger-prick blood sample to the company’s laboratories revealed Susan’s intolerances. Following on from the test, we asked Susan how she found the customer service experience to which she replied: “Very good.”

Similarly, on her appointment with one of our nutritional experts, Susan added: “The guidance from the nutritionist helped enormously. The consultant gave me a very balanced diet to follow.”

When asked to sum up her whole experience with YorkTest, Susan concluded: “I feel healthier and have more energy. I feel relieved to know about my food allergies, as now I know what was wrong.”
