Martin Rathmell

Symptoms: Stomach pain, Itchy skin, Joint pain, Tiredness

Food Reactions: Cow's milk, Vanilla, Goat's milk, Cheese

“Pain Free, Energy And Drive to Get up and Go, Fantastic!”

49-year-old Martin had been suffering with stomach pain which felt particularly painful during the night when lying down. He had struggled with gastrointestinal pain for over 10 years as well as suffering with poor health, lack of sleep, itchy skin, joint pain and tiredness.

Martin explained how these symptoms had affected him in his day to day life, from adding stress on his marriage, to leaving him unable to enjoy many of his favorite activities. “Nearly all my hobbies as I have had no energy and then pain would increase when I tried, so I just stopped. I used to run, mountain bike, swim, rock climb, and do lots of fast sports.”

After seeing multiple doctors and trying various medications and food diets, Martin came across YorkTest on the internet, having watched a TV program talking about the difference between food allergy and food sensitivity.

After taking a Premium Food Sensitivity Test, Martin found he had IgG reactivity to a number of different foods including milk, vanilla, goat’s milk and cheese. Commenting on his results, Martin said “I’d never eat that normally but I’d just had it in a meal before I did the test.”

After eliminating his trigger ingredients, Martin saw visible improvements after just 4 days.  “I am starting to feel like I have more energy and have drive now to do things. Not 100% yet but for sure I am getting better. My belly went down nearly 2 notches on my belt in just over 1 week. ”

Talking about his experience with trying to eliminate multiple foods from his diet, Martin said “Not too bad, just have to read the ingredients, my biggest struggle was not having my tea with milk but adapted to black now so all is good.” When asked what happens when he eats his trigger foods, Martin added: “Made one small mistake 2 weeks in and I was in loads of pain. It took about 4 days to calm down, I had not realised the food I had was made with milk.”

YorkTest analyses your IgG reactions to 200 food and drinks – from common ingredients like Cow’s Milk, Gluten and Egg, to health superfoods like kale and quinoa.

The process, which involves sending a finger-prick blood sample to the company’s laboratories revealed Martin’s food sensitivities. Following on from the test, the YorkTest Customer Care Team are on hand to answer any queries and offer follow-up advice along with our expert nutritional therapists.

When asked how he found his experience with YorkTest and customer service, Martin added: “Amazing and could not ask for more”.
