“Amazing, Grateful To Have Tested So I Can Be Pain Free and Enjoy Food Again”

46-year-old teacher Kate Evans had been struggling with intense pain, bloating, and diarrhea for around six months before taking one of our tests. Every evening brought her terrible stomach pain that would last for 12 to 14 hours after eating. The discomfort disrupted her sleep and left her dealing with daily diarrhea, making everyday life problematic (to say the least).

Kate found herself unable to enjoy the evenings, as she was constantly anticipating the pain that would follow her meals. She suspected her symptoms were food-related but couldn’t identify the specific trigger. Despite seeking help from her GP, testing wasn’t offered since she wasn’t experiencing symptoms commonly associated with gluten, and she knew it wasn’t gluten causing the issues.

With no clear path forward, she was referred to YorkTest by a friend, and she decided it was time to take control and optimise her health.

Kate was shocked when her test results revealed intolerances to milk, eggs, cane sugar, pepper seasoning, nutmeg, coconut, and hops. Although she had already suspected milk might be a problem, the rest came as a complete surprise.

Determined to feel better, Kate immediately eliminated all of her trigger foods, and the results were almost instant. The bloating disappeared. The evening pains stopped. Her energy returned. She describes feeling “amazing” and still feels that way to this day.

Although eating out and finding pre-made foods can be tricky due to her multiple sensitivities, Kate finds the trade-off well worth it. After accidentally consuming a trigger food, the pain returned straight away: a clear sign of just how impactful her new diet is.

Thanks to YorkTest’s nutritional consultation, she also received helpful guidance on food substitutes and supplements to support her new lifestyle. She found the Customer Care Team to be just as helpful and friendly throughout the process.

Kate hasn’t looked back since. She’s still following her plan and says she’ll stick with it long term if needed, because feeling pain-free and enjoying food again is something she’s truly grateful for.

If you’re experiencing symptoms that feel unmanageable, like Kate did, why not try one of our simple at-home food intolerance or allergy tests? At YorkTest, we’re here to help you take back control of your health, and start feeling like yourself again.

I personally have found this life changing, I lived with migraines for years, on one occasion it was so bad they thought I had an embolism. I have taken very strong tablets which are not particularly good for you. These have been reduced so much, I now don’t feel the need to take tablets out with me. The bloating has also reduced to virtually zero
