It\u2019s an autoimmune condition where the body mistakenly attacks its own tissues.<\/p>\n<p>This disease can attack specific parts of the body which results in wide-ranging symptoms and is often diagnosed when it cannot be classified as another type of connective tissue disease, for example lupus or rheumatoid arthritis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had to pace my activities and change my working pattern in order to continue working,\u201d Alison says, who has suffered with her symptoms for several years.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, she felt like she was unable to join in on certain social activities and often \u201ccancelled or did not arrange weekends away\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The 56-year-old had tried to take the condition into her own hands in a bid to alleviate her symptoms. \u201cI have tried many options including home remedies and eating certain products like oily fish\u201d, she explains.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t until Alison heard about yorktest through our social channels that she began to question if a food sensitivity\u2020 test could shed some insight into her symptoms.
