As individuals, our reactions to foods and drinks vary a great deal. An ingredient which may cause problems for one person could be completely acceptable for another. At YorkTest, we like to refer to this as our personal ‘food fingerprint’.
Discovering and understanding your own personal food and drink intolerances†, and the effects they have on your health and wellbeing, is important to ensuring you make the best possible choices to balance your diet.
As a society we are more conscious of our diets than ever before. To reflect these healthy eating trends and the wide range of ingredients available in supermarkets today, we have developed the Modern Living DietScan which tests for 160 of the most prominent ingredients enjoyed by health conscious individuals who wish to optimise their diet.
† YorkTest define Food Intolerance as a food-specific IgG reaction.

*British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy

Do not take this test if you are:
- Suffering from a blood borne disease such as Hepatitis or HIV
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Under the age of 2 years
Raised levels of food-specific IgG antibodies within your blood indicate that an IgG antibody reaction to a particular food or foods has occurred. If you have already taken the decision to eliminate a particular food or foods from your diet they may not show up a reaction on your results. If you know of foods that cause you to feel unwell, do not start eating them; we do not encourage you to eat a food or foods which you already know are a problem to you.
Modern Living DietScan does not provide information about coeliac disease, enzyme deficiencies such as lactose and alcohol intolerance, IgE-mediated allergies, histamine sensitivity or other chemical sensitivities such as reactions to sulphites, tannins or tyramine. Modern Living DietScan is only recommended for people who have food and drink intolerance symptoms.
