Very easy to do the test and well worth doing to find out which foods you should avoid. Cutting out this food has made a massive difference to my health. I have not had a migraine attack since I cut out dairy and cutting out other products like gluten and yeast has given me far more energy and has allowed me to lose weight easily. I would recommend everyone to take this test.

Took the Food and Drink Scan after Christmas, allot of different food in the body to test the sensitivity of. Results were strong reaction to yeast, cows milk and obscurely brazil nuts. Borderline reaction to gluten and egg whites. Since avoiding these foods I have more energy and motivation, better skin and generally feel more healthy. I have tried other food sensitivity tests and the York Test is the best hands down. The test is easy, a pin prick then send some blood which they test in their lab. The nutritionist consultation was good, I was already avoiding the food with any reaction but she advised me to avoid anything with vinegar and not to eat allot of peanuts which I didn't realise. On the negative side it is pricey. I did allot of research prior to ordering, the general opinion is that the York Test is the best test out there, an effective alternative is the elimination diet which is so restrictive that it is near impossible. It would be nice if there was an option to have a York retest, a year later or so, with a decent discount. So no bread, beer, wine, whiskey, milk chocolate, biscuits, cakes, pizza, burgers, pasties, cheese, pasta, sauces for a while. Eating porridge for breakfast and home cooked meals for lunch and dinner: meat curries and casseroles, vegetables and rice. Use allot of bouillon, coconut / almond milk, cornflour, fish and meat. Alcohol wise I mainly have gin and vodka. I snack on cashew nuts, not ideal according to the nutritionist but they seem not to cause any adverse effects. Its hard when you go out to restaurants - Indian's tend to avoid my problem foods, Chinese like to put yeast in everything. In a few months I will slowly introduce the borderline foods back into the diet and see how I feel. Plan to stay away from yeast and dairy permanently apart from the occasional beer. I highly recommend this test to anyone who suspects they have multiple intolerances that they are having difficulty identifying. Wish anyone taking this test better luck with their intolerance results than mine.

I was initially a bit wary of taking the test due to the cost, but having suffered with bloating and stomach pains for years and been diagnosed with IBS, I decided to take the plunge and go for it. It was the best decision I have ever made. !!!! After receiving my results and speaking to the nutritionist who was absolutely brilliant, I started on a 10 week plan eliminating all my trigger foods and within a week noticed a massive difference. No more bloating or painful stomach cramps for 8 weeks now !! I have also lost 11lbs in weight up to now, which is amazing as I have tried every diet on the market in the last few years and have never been able to lose weight successfully. I advise anyone thinking about taking the test to not hesitate and do it as soon as possible, you will not regret it. I would like to thank york test for totally giving me my life back.

I am very pleased with the service that York Testing offers. It was all very efficient, quick and easy to test at home. It has help me understand my body and has clarified things for me. The acid reflux and bloating I have had problems with over the last three years cleared up within a matter of days. I am no longer gaining weight and my heart irregularity has settled down. I have also noticed that in the gym my heart rate whilst exercising has fallen. Thanks to a very productive conversation with the excellent Elaine Jackson, Dietician, I am now planning how to go forward to keep up the benefits of the exclusion I have carried out over the last six weeks. In my half hour free dietician phone call Elaine gave me lots of useful advice and explanations and a really excellent diet program to help with weight loss in a healthy way. Overall I am delighted, excellent.

This process is easy to follow and well set out/organised by YTL. I discovered my intolerances and have worked the foods out of my diet over that past 9 weeks to great effect. I've heard hospital dermatologists pour scourn on the test but I think you have to take the plunge and make your own assumptions having removed those items which disrupt your daily life or confidence in eating ....

Had this test done over 3 years ago initially and repeated it in January this year. I was suffering from palindrome rheumatism (arthritis) which can be food related. I needed an elimination diet to ascertain which foods to avoid but I was too slim to go on that sort of a diet and doctors generally don't hold the view that food can be the cause of the problem. Two of the main culprits turned out to be soya and maize, with others too, but these were the big ones for me. I still have a problem with these 2 today and if I inadvertently eat them, even in tiny amounts, I get symptoms returning. With the second test I discovered that all but one of the other borderline foods were not now a problem which is so good to know. Obviously the original 'culprits' did not show up on the second test as I try to avoid them like the plague! I am grateful to York test for the work they are doing. It looked like I was developing full blown rheumatoid arthritis, in extreme pain which flitted from joint to joint, but now as long as I cook everything from 'scratch' I am fine. So, thank you!

After suffering with stomach pains after eating certain foods for quite along time I decided to take a food intolerance test. The whole process of the York Test was very easy and efficient. I received a half hour consultation with a nutritionalist which was very helpful. I did think it was a little costly but after experiencing the results of my intolerances that were found I am so pleased to have taken the test. I also suffer with migraine and thought the food intolerances may have contributed to them - I am still to come to a conclusion as to whether the migraines are getting better but my stomach is 100% better. I used to get bad stomach cramps - that has now gone. I am very pleased with the outcome and if anybody is suffering I would definitely recommend taking the test.

I found the kit quite daunting when I initially opened the box. I read the instructions and then watched the video which gave me a step by step guide. It felt like a pin prick and was over very quickly I posted the box and receive the results in less than a week by email first and then followed up in the post I called to book my nutritionist appointment which again could be booked pretty much immediately The nutritionist was very helpful and I would just advice anyone to write everything down especially if like myself you are intolerant to quite a few food items! She suggested I spend a few weeks planning my food diet as well as vitamins and probiotics to take I started my new diet on 1st January and within 2 weeks I felt healthier, lost weight, full of energy and able to exercise I would recommend this test to anyone and my sister is soon to purchase

I never thought that food can do such a harm to the body, but thanks to the York Test I find out what food cause me trouble. Since I stopped eating the food that I'm intolerant to, my health improve very much and I feel more energetic. The blood kit was very easy to use also very convenient to take it at home. Thanks very much to all the staff that I spoke, especially to Becky Daniel. They were very kind and helpful. Thank you, as well to nutritionist Jackie Lynch who helped me to plan my new diet. I do recommend the test to my family and friends .

  • Suffering from a blood borne disease such as Hepatitis or HIV

Raised levels of food-specific IgG antibodies within your blood indicate that an IgG antibody reaction to a particular food or foods has occurred.  If you have already taken the decision to eliminate a particular food or foods from your diet they may not show up a reaction on your results.  If you know of foods that cause you to feel unwell, do not start eating them; we do not encourage you to eat a food or foods which you already know are a problem to you.

Food&Drink Scan does not provide information about coeliac disease, enzyme deficiencies such as lactose and alcohol intolerance, IgE-mediated allergies, histamine sensitivity or other chemical sensitivities such as reactions to sulphites, tannins or tyramine.  Food&DrinkScan is only recommended for people who have food and drink intolerance symptoms.
