The Gut Health Test is a service that helps you check and monitor the status of your gut health and provides detailed information to help you optimise your digestive health. The test is a home stool test. The sample collection is carried out in the comfort of your own home and there is no need to go to a clinic or visit a specialist. When you place an order, a test kit is sent to you in the post, which contains everything you need to collect your stool sample safely and hygienically. Once the sample is collected, it is posted on for analysis at the laboratory.
What is tested?
The results provided to you will include information about:-
- Many different bacteria types, from sixteen different bacterial species, will
be identified, giving a broad view of the state of your gut flora. The sample
will be tested for both good (‘friendly’) bacteria and harmful (pathogenic) bacteria.
- The presence of yeasts (including Candida) and moulds.
- The presence of undigested carbohydrates, fats and proteins; indicators that
the gut is not functioning effectively
- Physical factors such as sample acidity and sample appearance indicators.
